In den Niederlanden fanden indonesische Bands wie „The Tielman Brothers“ und „The Crazy Rockers“ sofort ein breites Publikum unter der enthusiastischen niederländischen Jugend, die sich nach Rock ’n‘ Roll sehnte. Dieser musikalische Dokumentarfilm beleuchtet, wie diese Künstler*innen mit ihrem neuen Leben in Europa umgingen und wie sie die Musiklandschaft in den Niederlanden und weit darüber hinaus veränderten. Von der indo-niederländischen Regisseurin Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich.
Der Film wird erstmals in Deutschland gezeigt.
Anschließend Karaokeabend zum Abschluss des Festivals!
Once in the Netherlands, Dutch-Indonesian bands like „The Tielman Brothers“ and „The Crazy Rockers“ immediately found a wide audience among the enthusiastic Dutch youth, who were hungry for rock ’n‘ roll music. This musical documentary explores how these artists dealt with living in Europe and how they transformed the Dutch musical landscape and far beyond. A film by the Indo-Dutch director Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich.
For the first time, this film will be screened in Germany.
